RACE INFO

The event is based at the Broken Hill Racecourse which is about 6km from Broken Hill’s main street.
 Please make sure you arrange your own transport to the racecourse in advance. 

LATE REGISTRATION

Late registration will be available on Saturday 27th July from 9am-10am and then again from 2pm to 5pm in the Gary Radford pavilion at the racecourse or between 7.30am and 8.30am on the Sunday Morning. There is no extra fee for late registration and the Kids Racecourse dash at 1.30pm is FREE but does require registration.

START TIMES 

9.00am Marathon (runners only). No official cut-off time but let us know on the day if you expect to finish in more than five hours. 

9.30am Half marathon (runners only). No cut-off time but let us know on the day if you expect to
finish in more than three hours.

9.45am 10km (runners and walkers) No cut-off time.

10.00am  5km (runners and walkers) No cut-off time.

1.30pm 2km KIDS Racecourse Dash for U12s (Parents can walk/run with their children) – FREE
EVENT but registration still required.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

5km event – the Broken Hill Racecourse Parkrun course.

10km event – the parkrun course then 1.5km along a dirt track next to Racecourse Road and the Silver City Highway, returning to the racecourse for a 2km lap of the racecourse track

Half-Marathon – the parkrun course then 7km on dirt tracks next to Racecourse Road and the Silver City Highway, returning to the racecourse for a 2km lap of the racecourse track.

Marathon – the half-marathon course x 2

BIB AND T-SHIRT COLLECTION 

Race Bibs and Pre-purchased T-Shirts can be collected from the Gary Radford Pavilion at the racecourse on race day
from 8am or between 9am -10am or 2pm and 5pm on the Saturday afternoon, 27th July.

PERSONAL ITEMS 

Personal items can be left in the marquee at the start line which will be staffed throughout the event.

DRINK STATIONS

There will be three drinks stations on the course. One at the starting line which is also the 5km mark for the 10km, half marathon and marathon events. Another one will be at the turnaround point for the 10km (6.5km mark) and another one at the turnaround point for the marathon and half marathon (12km mark.) Marathon and half marathon runners will then have these drink stops on their return journey at 17.5km (Half Marathon runners) and 21km, 26km, 27.5 km, 33 km and 38.5km ( Marathon runners). Marathon and half marathon runners are encouraged to wear hydration vests or carry a refillable container but there will be cups available at the hydration stations. There will also be some lollies available at some of the stations. 

Near the start line there will also be a coffee van with coffee and food for sale before and after the race with free fruit available. 

PRIZES
All finishers for the marathon, half-marathon and 10km and 5km events will receive an iconic Mad
Max medal to commemorate their achievement. Trophies will be awarded to the first
three males and first three females of the marathon, half marathon and 10km events and the first
male and first female of the 5km event. Award ceremonies will be held  progressively through the morning and early afternoon. 

PLEASE NOTE: Distances and starting times for each event will be as close as possible to those advertised, however as the terrain is a little unpredictable and challenging, these may vary. 

FIRST AID

St John’s will be providing first aid support for the event with 2 staff members and a vehicle. They will be based in the Gary Radford Pavillion but can provide any first aid on the course where required.
